Our order can’t be bought.

How gpcompare.ie decides who is listed, in what order, and how we keep prices right.

Who is listed

Every online GP service for patients in Ireland that publishes its consultation fee on its own website. A listing is free and never depends on a commercial agreement. Services included with a health insurance plan are shown separately as “included with plan”, because there is no per-visit price to compare.

The order

There is one editorial order: the published price for the time you need a doctor (weekday daytime, weekday evening or weekend), cheapest first. Equal prices are listed alphabetically. Services with no published price for that time go to the bottom. Where a provider only publishes a “from” price, we use it and label it “from”.

We never call any service “Ireland’s cheapest”. The board shows the lowest listed price on the date we checked it.

Paid placements

gpcompare.ie has no paid placements today. If we ever sell one, it will be labelled “Featured · paid placement” beside the provider’s name and it will never change the order of the board. We do not use affiliate or discount codes, and we will never accept a fee that depends on a prescription or on any clinical decision.

How prices are checked

Every price, opening time and service detail is read by hand on the provider’s own website. Each one is stored with the page it came from and the date we checked it, and the site will not build if either is missing. You can see the source and date under every row of the board and in the Price Index CSV.

Clinical content

Pages that explain what an online GP can do will be reviewed by a named GP registered with the Irish Medical Council, with their registration number and the review date shown on the page. Until that reviewer is in place, those pages say “Review pending”.

Corrections

If a price or detail is wrong, tell us at the address in the footer. We check the source and fix it, usually the same day, and change the “checked” date.
